Project Title: Vessel Barrier Replacement and Repair Project for Hoover Dam
Solicitation No.: 140R3026Q0038
This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract and does not constitute a solicitation. The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin, Lower Colorado Dams Office, Hoover Dam, intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for purchases not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold, Contracting Officers may solicit from only one source if the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source is reasonably available.
The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for construction services to restore critical waterborne safety and security barriers at Hoover Dam. The work includes:
Task 1 - Riverside (Downstream) Vessel Barrier Replacement
Replacement of the existing end of life fast water vessel barrier system, including delivery of new barrier floats, connectors, hardware, and a new boat access gate fully compatible with Hoover Dam operational and safety requirements.
Task 2 - Lakeside (Upstream) Vessel Exclusion Gate Installation and Boom Line Repair
Installation of a Government furnished Tuffboom gate assembly, inspection and repair of the upstream boom line connection, and certification that the full vessel exclusion system is operational.
