516-26-117 Repair Steam Piping in Manhole Near Building 1 - This project shall repair/replace the jacked steam line and or compromised condensate lines in the manhole near building 1. The objective of this work is three-fold. First is to order long lead time Rovanco Underground steam piping. Second is to install two (2) rental boilers in B71 and 101 to provide hot water for these buildings during the repair once the long lead pipes are delivered. These are the only buildings fed by this steam leg that houses patients overnight and therefore the primary focus of heating requirements. Even with preordering the exterior piping before shutting down the steam to this manhole, this repair will take weeks to complete. These boilers will need to be powered from diesel powered generator(s) as there is not sufficient available electrical power in the buildings. Third is to purchase, install and test/commission all required steam piping to repair this leak including the Rovanco piping sections. This will include digging up the ground at least 6 foot away from this manhole to replace 2 sets of pipes that go into and come out of this manhole as well as replacing all piping and fittings inside the manhole.
