The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is planning a project to improve security and safety at Building One of its Community Living Center (CLC). This effort focuses on enhancing patient safety and access by integrating advanced technologies such as RF technology at key entry points, motion sensors, new breezeway doors, a double pole double throw (DPDT) relay system, and an intrusion alarm system specifically for the mail room. These improvements will be seamlessly integrated with the existing Johnson Controls Inc. systems, including the C CURE 9000 access control system, to ensure coordinated security operations throughout the facility. The contractor selected will be responsible for providing all necessary tools, equipment, materials, permits, labor, and supervision to complete construction work encompassing carpentry, electrical tasks, and other specified items as outlined in the project documentation. This contracting opportunity is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) certified under the relevant SBA databases and regulations. Joint ventures may also be eligible if they comply with SBA requirements. The contract will follow established federal acquisition regulations, including FAR 52.243-5 and VAAR 852.243-70, governing changes and adjustments. Offerors must comply with nonmanufacturer rules and limitations on subcontracting and submit certifications attesting to their SDVOSB eligibility. Willful misrepresentation of SDVOSB status can result in debarment for a minimum of five years. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued around May 26, 2026, with quotes due by June 25, 2026.
