ENERGY MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEM PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

The Social Security Administration (SSA) issued a solicitation for ongoing maintenance and support services for the Alerton IBEX for Windows Energy Management Control System (EMCS) located in Richmond, California. The contract requires the contractor to provide onsite support for two days or sixteen hours each month over a twelve-month period, including supervision, labor, equipment, materials, and preventive maintenance to effectively monitor and maintain the EMCS hardware and software components. Alerton Technologies is identified as the Original Equipment Manufacturer, and the programming language used by the system is proprietary, limiting service to authorized franchise providers. This procurement is designated as an unrestricted commercial item acquisition, conducted under simplified acquisition procedures according to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. The base performance period is from October 1, 2011, through September 30, 2012, with four optional one-year extensions available. The solicitation was posted on July 22, 2011, with a closing date of August 12, 2011, and an anticipated award date of September 15, 2011. Interested parties were instructed to download the solicitation from the Federal Business Opportunities website, as telephonic requests were not accepted. The contract falls under NAICS code 238220 and is managed by the SSA Office of Acquisition Grants in Baltimore, Maryland.
