The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Company for the procurement of STANDARD Missile-2 (SM-2) requirements covering fiscal years 2005 through 2007. The contract encompasses the purchase of SM-2 Block IIIB missiles and related components, including ORDALT kits, service life extension program hardware for Block II/III, spare missile sections, telemetric data transmission sets and installation kits, replenishment spares, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) options for Block IIIA/IIIB missiles, spare sections, and shipping containers. These missiles will be delivered as All-Up-Rounds (AURs), which integrate critical components such as the safe and arming device, warhead, rocket motor, and target detecting devices. In addition to hardware procurements, the contract includes a yearly allocation for engineering and technical services to support design agent responsibilities and depot-level maintenance efforts. Raytheon is identified as the sole capable prime contractor for the STANDARD Missile program, with subcontracting opportunities directed through the company. This contract ensures continuity of supply and support for both U.S. and Foreign Military Sales customers, maintaining the readiness and effectiveness of the SM-2 missile system through sustained production and technical support activities.
