1700 Sango Court Building Demolition Project

The City of Milpitas is soliciting bids for the 1700 Sango Court Building Demolition Project, identified as CIP NO. 2023. The scope of work involves the demolition of a vacant warehouse building, the removal of existing trees, asphalt, baserock, and soil, and the import of new soil to match the existing grade. The contractor is responsible for protecting existing fences and abandoning two monitoring wells. Due to the nature of the site, the project requires strict adherence to environmental constraints and health and safety plans regarding asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, arsenic, benzene, and naturally occurring asbestos in baserock, as well as dust mitigation and groundwater management. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the base bid alone. To be eligible, bidders must have attended a mandatory pre-bid conference and hold a valid Class A General Engineering Contractor or C-21 Building Moving/Demolition Contractor license. Additionally, all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and comply with Santa Clara County prevailing wage rates. Sealed bids must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on September 22, 2026, and must include bid security in the form of cash, a certified check, or a bid bond. The successful bidder will be required to provide certificates of insurance and necessary bonds within five working days of the award notice.
