In accordance with FAR -- PART 14 Sealed Bidding, The Marine Design Center (MDC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to obtain one inland river, all welded steel towboat for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District. The towboat shall be twin-Z drive diesel powered vessel with two main engines delivering a minimum of 2500 HP total. The towboat shall have an all-welded steel hull and deckhouse superstructure. The new towboat, designated the CESWL M/V SHORTY BAIRD REPLACEMENT, will have a primary mission to provide assistance to the Arkansas River Fleet for the Little Rock District, as well as providing support to other surrounding Corps districts. The primary mission that the vessel will be assisting for the Little Rock District is towing and berthing services associated with maintenance and repair of navigation infrastructure. The vessel will be delivered with ABS certification for quote mark Maltese Cross A 1 Towing Vessel with Maltese Cross AMS for Service on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways. quote mark This procurement will be a small business set aside. The solicitation is a quote mark Design Development quote mark type based upon a contract design prepared by MDC. The structural design and primary systems have been completed and ABS approved drawings will be provided by MDC. This contract will utilize MDC's two phase contracting methodology.
