19--Notice of Intention to Sole Source

Solicitation No. F14PS00998 Region 3, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to sole source a requirement reference FAR 6.302-1(2)with multiple trade-ins, for one (1) new, all aluminum, 18'6", Model 1850 Fish Hawk WT Deep-V Hull, Crestliner Boat, and trailer, with a model E150HGL, Evinrude, 150hp, E-Tec motor for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge, McGregor, Iowa. Equipment will be used for law enforcement/search and rescue operations on the Upper Mississippi River. Law Enforcement personnel must have a multi-use/multi-purpose vessel that on many occasions can handle rough, deeper water, but also navigate in extremely shallow water that may be only inches deep. Crestliner Boat Company offers a shallow draft, light-weight aluminum boat that meets the requirements of both deep and shallow water requirements. The company also offers a short bow height of 35", that allows Law Enforcement Officals to rapidly, but safely, exit and board as required to include under "beached" operations. Another critical requirement is a readily accessible, lockable storage drawer at the helm of the boat under the driver's side console.
