2026 Fuel Bid

Bushkill Township is soliciting sealed electronic proposals via PennBid for the complete removal and re-roofing of its Municipal Building located at 1114 Bushkill Center Road, Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The project requires the removal of approximately 10,900 square feet of existing shingles, ice and water shield, and felt paper, followed by the installation of a new roof system. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, and will be opened and tallied at 2:15 p.m. the same day at the Municipal Building, with award decisions anticipated during the Township meeting at 6:00 p.m. All proposals must include a certified check or bid bond equal to 10% of the bid amount, payable to Bushkill Township, and contractors are required to comply with Pennsylvania’s Prevailing Wage Law. Performance and payment bonds at 100% of the contract value are mandatory upon award, along with a Workmen’s Compensation Affidavit and a Non-Collusion Affidavit. Contractors must also maintain comprehensive general liability, property damage, and automobile liability insurance with minimum limits of $250,000 per person and $1,000,000 per occurrence, naming the Township as an additional insured, and provide current certificates prior to work commencement. The contract term is one year from the award date, with a possible 30-day extension, and no fuel surcharges will apply. The Township reserves the right to waive minor irregularities, reject any or all bids, adjust quantities, or eliminate items as necessary. All bids must be submitted electronically through PennBid; no sealed or mailed proposals will be accepted. Plans and specifications are available at no cost on the PennBid portal, and failure to submit all required forms and bonds will result in disqualification. The Township will not accept proposals that include escalation clauses, and all equipment must meet municipal standards for safety and operational compatibility.
