The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is soliciting bids for the purchase of a new 2026 Can-Am Defender 6x6 XT equipped with upgraded heavy duty springs or an approved equivalent model that meets the same functional requirements. The specification for the Can-Am Defender is provided as a reference for desired capabilities and is not intended to restrict competition; vendors may submit equivalent vehicles provided they include full technical specifications with their proposal. Any deviations from the stated requirements must be clearly noted alongside each specification, and the DNR retains the authority to evaluate and accept or reject those deviations. All vendors must be authorized manufacturer representatives with the ability to honor and extend the manufacturer’s warranty. The solicitation is open for responses until July 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM, and all proposals must be submitted through the designated online portal. Bidders are required to save progress frequently and must recertify and resubmit their proposal each time they reopen it after initial submission, even if no changes are made. If amendments are issued, bidders must review the updates, respond to any new questions in the designated section, and formally recertify and resubmit their proposal to remain eligible. The contract terms and conditions are posted on the Iowa DNR website, and all correspondence and submissions must be handled through the official bidding platform.
