Contract N65540-02-C-0077, which included a - To Be Negotiated option for unknown repairs, was competitively awarded to Air New Zealand Limited of Aukland, New Zealand to overhaul one each LM2500 engine. During the overhaul process several repair requirements were identified including Stages 3 - 6 vane replacement, Stage 1 shroud replacement, Thermal shield replacement, Turbine mid frame rework, and Fuel pump replacement, etc. This modification will be issued on a sole source basis as the most economical method to proceed would be to repair the engine while the engine is torn down at the contractor's facility.
