AI Contract Overview

Solicitation N00421-02-R-3193 for Digital Voice Logging Recorder Systems has been officially cancelled as of July 22, 2002, due to unclear requirement specifications. The Naval Air Warfare Center Air Division determined that existing Government contracts and internal capabilities are sufficient to meet the Air Force's needs, thus making it unnecessary to pursue a new procurement. This decision reflects a strategic effort to utilize current resources efficiently without imposing unnecessary burdens on industry participants. The cancellation is in full compliance with Government policy and ensures continuity of capability through established channels. The original solicitation was a total small business set-aside under the Department of Defense, posted as a presolicitation. The requiring activity, located in Patuxent River, Maryland, concluded that leveraging existing contracts would best serve operational requirements. This approach allows the Naval Air Warfare Center at St. Inigoes to fulfill mission needs without further solicitation, streamlining acquisition efforts while maintaining adherence to procurement regulations.

Full Description

Solicitation N00421-02-R-3193 is hereby cancelled effective 22 July 2002. The requiring activity has determined that the requirement specifications were unclear. It has been determined that it is in the best interest of the Government to cancel this solicitation and procure the Digital Voice Logging Recorder Systems on current Government contracts. Through the government's research and inquiries, it was determined that capacity within current Government contracts already in-place, augmented by in-house capabilities, would enable NAWCAD St. Inigoes to fulfill the Air Force requirements. It was determined that canceling the solicitation was both within the Government's rights and should not be a burden to industry.
