The Naval Air Systems Command issued a Request For Information (RFI) in April 2004, seeking industry feedback on the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program to assist in refining acquisition and management strategies. This RFI highlighted the program's scope and provided access to relevant technical and programmatic details through the PMA213 Specification website. Strong industry interest and valuable feedback have been received, demonstrating significant engagement with JPALS technology. As part of the outreach, an initial Industry Day was scheduled for July 21, 2004, at Titan Corporation in Lexington Park, MD, featuring briefings on program overviews, technology development, contract plans, and logistics, along with opportunities for Q&A sessions. Attendance required pre-registration by July 14, and informational materials were provided electronically to promote a paperless event. Following the Industry Day, JPALS program officials planned one-on-one meetings with interested companies during the week of September 13, 2004, to facilitate direct discussions on technical and acquisition aspects at the NAVAIR Washington Liaison Office in Arlington, VA. These meetings, lasting up to two hours, were unclassified to encourage broad participation. The program’s outreach efforts were managed under the Department of Defense, with contact points available for contracting and program inquiries, reflecting the department’s commitment to inclusive industry collaboration for advancing the JPALS initiative.
