59--Accelerometers

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Dynamic Measurements Branch Code 663, has a requirement for a quantity of ninety-two (92) Endevco 2262A accelerometers to measure acceleration on ships in the navy fleet and on full-scale models of ships during underwater explosion tests. NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with the Endevco Corporation of SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplier of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Endevco 2262A accelerometer is required to maintain compatibility with the current units now in place. Mechanical filters and foundation blocks were specifically designed to allow use of Endevco 2262A accelerometers. Use of another type unit would require modification to existing equipment which would result in a substantial duplication of cost to the government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources submitting proposals within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Anticipated award date is on or around 4/14/06.
