This procurement will be executed through a sole source modification to an existing contract with Orion Electronics, identified as DEA-2000-C-0008, in accordance with federal regulations governing sole source acquisitions. The request follows statutory provisions allowing such direct procurement due to the unique nature of the equipment and the specialized capabilities offered by the manufacturer. The contract is listed under the Department of Justice’s Headquarters office located in Springfield, Virginia, and pertains to a pre-solicitation notice issued in April 2003. While the specific place of performance details and set-aside information are not provided, the acquisition primarily addresses the DEA's operational needs for advanced GPS tracking technology crucial for law enforcement activities.
