This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the U.S. Air Force's Force Protection System Squadron (FPSS) acting on behalf of the Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG). Its primary purpose is to gather detailed information from industry regarding the capabilities of Video and Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) devices, particularly focusing on data exchanges between Command and Control Decision Equipment (CCDE) and these security devices. This effort is part of a broader initiative to standardize device interfaces within the Department of Defense, ensuring compatibility and integration of vendor equipment into security solutions. The RFI explicitly states that it is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or guarantee of a contract award. Respondents will not be reimbursed for any costs associated with providing information. The solicitation, identified under the title "63 -- FORCE PROTECTION VIDEO/PTZ INTERFACES" and number R1145, was posted in August 2005 as a presolicitation, emphasizing its role in information gathering rather than procurement. The government aims to maximize industry engagement to support the standardization process, facilitating future interoperability and system integration efforts.

THIS REQUEST IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY, AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, A SOLICITATION, A REQUEST FOR QUOTES, OR AN INDICATION THE GOVERNMENT WILL CONTRACT FOR THE ITEMS CONTAINED IN THE RFI. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT REIMBURSE RESPONDENTS FOR ANY COST ASSOCIATED WITH SUBMISSION OF THE INFORMATION BEING REQUESTED OR REIMBURSE EXPENSES INCURRED TO INTERESTED PARTIES FOR RESPONSES TO THIS RFI. The USAF through the Force Protection System Squadron (FPSS) is serving Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG) as the Lead DoD organization in standardizing device interfaces for the SEIWG. To ensure that the industry is aware of our efforts in standardizing the interfaces and to ensure that the maximum number of vendor's equipment can be accommodated in our security solutions, we are soliciting information related to Video/PTZ device capabilities and in particular the data exchanges between CCDE and Video/PTZ devices.
