The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Tampa, FL, plans to award a sole source contract to Nikon Instruments Inc. for the procurement of specialized microscope equipment upgrades, including Nikon Automation Equipment, objective lenses for confocal and widefield imaging, and DIC components. This equipment, classified as medical devices, must meet strict specifications and standards to ensure it operates reliably and interfaces properly with existing Nikon peripheral devices. This contract opportunity is not a competitive solicitation but serves to inform interested parties, with responses due by February 5, 2011. The contract falls under NAICS code 333314 and is managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs' Network Contract Office 8 in Tampa. The government will review responses to consider if a competitive solicitation should be issued for future acquisitions.
