65--Special Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source

Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky has a requirement for one (01) each Repair Part No. 453561150493, an Ultrasound PCB Assembly, Dual Signal Conditioning The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order for this requirement. The suggested contractor is Philips Medical Systems North America, Inc., a large business. Philips Medical Systems North America, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer of the Ultrasound equipment and is the only vendor capable of providing the repair part. This is the only requirement which will maintain the system to meet manufacturer's optimum performance. The immediate procurement of this requirement is necessary to ensure the hospital does not have any impact on its mission to provide patient care if an priority contract action is not taken. The Radiology system is currently down, and patients are being referred to outlying hospitals. This is not a request for proposal. However, companies that can provide an equal product must submit their technical capabilities to include complete and detailed technical specifications of their product, past performance information, price, and delivery time. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives for consideration for future requirements.
