The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 10 Detroit VA Medical Center, plans to award a sole source contract for a Diasorin Liaison MDX/Integrated Cycler, 110V, under solicitation number 36C25026Q0554. The Detroit VA requires one unit of this specific equipment, identified by part number MOL1001, which is essential because it uniquely supports the FDA-cleared Diasorin Candida auris PCR surveillance test. This test is critical for complying with VHA Directive 1131 and CDC recommendations for Candida auris screening, offering prompt diagnostic results that can be directly entered into medical records, while also reducing reagent use, repeat testing, and potential bed closures during outbreaks. Diasorin Molecular LLC, located in Cypress, CA, is the sole source vendor qualified to supply, install, and maintain this specific cycler without voiding the warranty or compromising service agreements. The government believes no other supplier can meet these technical requirements or offer the necessary clinical and regulatory compliance. This firm-fixed price contract will be negotiated exclusively with Diasorin Molecular LLC, and no competitive solicitation is planned. However, interested parties may submit evidence demonstrating advantages of competition by June 15, 2026. Contract management is overseen by Contract Specialist Natalie Harris and Contracting Officer Kellie Konopinski.
