AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs NCO 8 intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to QIAGEN LLC for QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II reagents and controls. This contract will be established as a five year Blanket Purchase Agreement consisting of a base year and four option years. The supplies are required for Interferon Gamma Release Assay testing at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital to support clinical and occupational health screenings for veterans and employees. The reagents must be FDA approved and fully compatible with the DiaSorin LIAISON XL analyzer currently in use at the facility. QIAGEN is identified as the only responsible source because they exclusively manufacture these reagents. The contract includes monthly deliveries of supplies that meet CAP, JCAHO, and VA laboratory standards. While the government is proceeding with a sole source award, interested parties may submit capability statements to the contracting officer by August 28, 2026, to determine if competition is viable.
