AI Contract Overview
The US Geological Survey intends to award a single-source purchase order to Qiagen LLC for a digital PCR instrument designed for precise and multiplexed quantification in genetic studies. The required equipment must integrate partitioning, thermocycling, and imaging into one platform, supporting up to five fluorescent dyes and the simultaneous measurement of five targets. Key performance specifications include a rapid two-hour workflow, compatibility with 24-well and 96-well plates, and the capacity to process up to 480 samples per eight-hour shift. The system must be compatible with Windows 10 or 11 and meet specific hardware requirements regarding processing power and memory. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 12 for commercial items, as Qiagen LLC is identified as the only source capable of providing this proprietary equipment. While this is a notice of intent rather than a formal request for quotes, interested parties may submit quotations via email to the designated point of contact by September 8, 2026. The action falls under NAICS code 334516 for Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and PSC 6640 for Laboratory Equipment and Supplies.
