Full Description

This project is for the procurement of continuous beam x-ray systems. These x-ray systems will be used to detect projectiles in flight in the AEDC aero-ballistic ranges near the launcher muzzles. The x-ray systems will include x-ray sources, x-ray detectors, power supplies, interface cables, and associated local and remote controls. X-ray sources and x-ray detectors will be installed by AEDC on opposite sides of aero-ballistic range tanks so that the continuous x-ray beam crosses the trajectory of the projectile. Interruption of the beam by the projectile will cause the detector to produce an output signal. The x-ray systems must be capable of discriminating between a launched projectile and sources of interference including muzzle flash and launcher gases. Deliverables include: five complete and ready to install x-ray detector modules, five remote detector threshold adjustment panels and interface cables, three complete and ready to install x-ray source modules including power supplies and operator controls, five CD's containing as-built drawings and schematics, five CD's containing operation, installation, and maintenance manuals including the parts list, and test results reports. Estimated period of performance shall be 150 calendar days after notice of award. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Arnold Air Force Base Tennessee 37389. Request for Proposal will be available on or about 3 August 2007. Proposal response date will be on or about 4 September 2007 at 2PM Central Standard Time. Request for Proposals will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available.
