The SUNY College of Optometry will receive sealed bids for project no. 010926S titled 6th Floor Dry Eye Suite until 11a.m. EST on Oct 15, 2026 (Thu) at 33 W42 St., NY NY 10036, where such proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud virtually the same day at 11:30 a.m. EST. Tel: (212) 938-5945 ; Email: yleeshue@sunyopt.edu This minor renovation project is renovating the existing 6th Floor - Room 614 and Room 615 - to create a new Dry Eye Suite which includes one (1) waiting room and three (3) examination rooms. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: Demolition of the existing partition wall between Room 614 and Room 615, flooring, ceiling tiles, ceiling suspension system, existing light fixtures, diffusers, return air grilles, two existing doors and portions of the south wall required for new opening, plumbing fixtures and associated piping, countertop, sink, electrical devices, wiring and associated equipment, and any necessary demolition to accommodate the new layout. Construction of new insulated metal stud and gypsum board partitions from floor slab to underside or deck to create the new layout. New doors and opening needed with add-on alternate of storefront door system. New cabinetry and countertops needed. New suspended acoustical ceiling system needed. New light switches and light fixtures needed. New power receptacles needed. New piping modifications needed with installation of sink and faucet. New ductwork modifications needed with installation of four (4) new supply air diffusers and four (4) returned air grilles. One set per each new office. Self-leveling compound or flash patch and new VCT tiles needed. Patch and paint needed. Re-modify and relocate support of the existing radiator plus patch and paint needed. A licensed electrician is required for all electrical work. A licensed plumber is required for all plumbing work A license asbestos contractor is required if any asbestos abatement is involved. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid. It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy. The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
