The government plans to award a sole-source contract to Exloc Instruments, Inc. for the acquisition of 44 intrinsically safe (IS) enclosures with pre-installed access points (APs) and antennas, supporting the Logistics Modernization Program Increment 2 (LMP2) Deployment managed by AMC. Of the total enclosures, 14 will be installed at TEAD and 30 at McAAP. This procurement is critical for enabling mobile and wireless computing capabilities tied to the LMP2 software deployment, which has prompted technical readiness assessments of the wireless local area networks (WLANs) at various AMC Automated Information Technology (AIT) sites. These assessments aim to identify and address deficiencies to ensure each site is equipped for LMP2. The decision to sole-source this contract is based on the determination that the Exloc Instruments model iWAP107 enclosure uniquely meets AMC’s operational requirements, with no other suppliers offering equivalent products, as authorized under FAR 6.302-1(c). The contract mandates a lead time concluding by September 30, 2014, and all inquiries must be directed to the specified point of contact, Amelia Flournoy, by September 5, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. EST. The acquisition is classified under NAICS code 334290 and falls within the Department of Defense’s purview through the USA Engineering Support Center at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
