The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base plans to award a sole source contract to Affordable Interior Systems Inc., based in Hudson, Massachusetts, for the purchase and installation of modular office furniture, specifically 10 cubicles and 3 workstations. This procurement is intended to provide furniture that matches existing office setups used in support of the Wargame/Vault Operations. The original furniture was acquired under a contract in 2004, and this contract represents an additional acquisition of the same furniture components to maintain consistency and professionalism in the office environment. The justification for awarding this contract on a sole source basis lies in the need for uniformity in furniture appearance and functionality, which only Affordable Interior Systems Inc. can provide given their prior delivery and knowledge of the project. Changing brands would not only disrupt the visual and functional harmony but could also delay work progress. Efforts were made to identify other sources, but no alternatives were found, making AIS the only capable supplier. The contract will be firm-fixed price, and if no other suppliers respond by the specified deadline, the sole source award will proceed. The contracting point of contact is SSgt Emary D. Head at the 42nd Contracting Squadron.

The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell AFB, AL intends to award a sole source contract to Affordable Interior Systems Inc., located at 4 Bonazzoli Avenue Hudson, Massachusetts 01749 to purchase/install the following modular office furniture: 10 cubicles and 3 workstations.1. Description of the supplies and services being acquired: CADRE intends to procure the various office furniture parts that will match the existing furniture in the offices. These items will be used in support of the Wargame/Vault Operations. The original materials were procured in 2004 (ref. Contract # FA3300-04-D-0019); and this is an additional quantity of the same materials. 2. Justification for Sole Source: Since these materials were purchased and distributed previously from Affordable Interior Systems Inc., this purchase request must be filled by AIS against the previous delivery order. Provided different brand of furniture to the existing one will not look professional and could slow down work efforts. Thus these materials must match existing material and be purchased from AIS to ensure swifter installation time as well as coordination. 3. Justification that source is the only known source (talk to your efforts to find other sources): AIS is the only known source capable of satisfying this requirement. 4. Actions taken to preclude future sole source acquisitions: No action can be taken to preclude future sole source acquisitions under the current conditions b/c it is under an exisisting delivery order. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. If there are any other businesses that can provide the specified items/services, they must respond to this notice before 1200 hrs (central time) on 4 Sep 2006. If no responses are received by the above date, a sole source contract with Affordable Interior Systems Inc. will be pursued. The point of contact (POC) for this notice is SSgt Emary D. Head, which can be contacted by the following mail: 42nd Contracting Squadron, 50 LeMay Plaza South, Bldg 804, Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6334; Fax: +1 (555) 000-0000; Phone: +1 (555) 000-0000; email: contact@example.gov.
