Sentinel Peak Resources California LLC is undertaking the rework of three existing oil wells—API numbers 0403028589, 0403028653, and 0403035702—in the Midway-Sunset Oilfield located in Kern County, California. The work involves remedial operations such as casing repair, perforation, and downhole equipment adjustments, all conducted within the original wellbores and targeting the same reservoir without expanding operational use or causing significant surface disturbance. The project has been determined eligible for categorical exemptions under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), specifically Classes 1, 2, and 4, based on the conclusion that the activities involve negligible or no permanent environmental effects, no expansion of use, and minor alterations consistent with existing facilities.
