Alameda County is seeking to procure detention-grade foam mattresses with built-in pillows, specifically the Chestnut Ridge brand or an approved equivalent, for use at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, serving an average daily population of approximately 1,400 individuals. The mattresses must meet stringent safety and durability standards, including fire- and fluid-resistance, non-absorbency, and tear-resistant construction, with tamper-resistant, reinforced seams to prevent access to internal materials and reduce opportunities for contraband concealment. Each mattress must measure 2 inches deep by 30 inches wide by 76 inches long, be fully enclosed in a durable fluid-impermeable cover, and comply with all applicable flammability, labeling, and chemical restrictions as detailed in Exhibit A-1, which includes a specified chemical list.
