Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Fish & Wildlife Services, Region 7 Contracting and General Services intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY: ADAK Petroleum LLC, DUNS: 014288333 FOR : Heating Fuel for Alaska Maritime NWR located in Adak, AK ON: 01/09/2014 NAICS: 424710 Petroleum Bulk Stations and Terminals AUTHORITY: 8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Adak Island is in a remote location accessible only by boat or plane. This request is to provide heating oil fuel for the following USFWS buildings on Adak Island, Alaska on "as needed" demand to the following locations: Adak Triplex 146 Finger Bay Rd, (500 gal tank), Adak Fourplex 145 Finger Bay Rd, (500 gal tank), Adak Bunkhouse 100 Finger Bay Rd, (500 gal tank). There is no other source of competition on the island that can provide this service for us. Adak Petroleum, LLC is the only known source that provides heating oil fuel on Adak Island.
