The 37th Contracting Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base plans to award a purchase order to Time Warner for the acquisition and installation of a fiber network line to provide dedicated internet access and managed security services at the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC), Building 7445. The contract covers a 12-month period for 10 Mbps dedicated internet access, including installation and a suite of managed security features such as firewall-based antivirus, antispyware, and intrusion prevention services. Due to restrictions on trenching for new lines, the contract leverages existing fiber infrastructure already present outside the building, making a single-source award under FAR 13 appropriate. The place of performance is located at JBSA Lackland AFB, Texas, and the contracting office handling the procurement is the 37th Contracting Squadron. Points of contact for the contract are Elizabeth Perez, Contract Specialist, and Rose E. Mora, Contracting Officer, both reachable via phone and email. This notice serves as an announcement of intent to award and does not request competitive quotes, reflecting the sole-source nature of the engagement with Time Warner. The NAICS code applicable is 517919, which corresponds to telecommunications services.
