The Office of Federal Procurement Policy and the Procurement Executives Council are undertaking a redesign of the Federal Procurement Data System, resulting in the new Federal Acquisition Management Information System (FAMIS). This system upgrade aims to enhance integration with agency electronic commerce platforms and improve the delivery of timely management information, building on the original FPDS established under Public Law 93-400 for procurement data collection and dissemination. The initiative is targeted exclusively at Executive Branch federal government entities. To facilitate input and address government operational and informational needs regarding FAMIS, two public forums are scheduled for March 7 and March 13, 2002, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the GSA Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Attendance requires a U.S. Government building pass. Interested parties within eligible federal agencies are encouraged to participate and engage in discussions related to the system’s development. Additional information about the FPDS re-engineering project is available on the designated FAMIS website.
