A -- 3- Month Extension MTIAC

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) intends to award a sole source modification to Alion Science and Technology for a three-month extension of the existing contract supporting the Manufacturing Technology Information Analysis Center (MTIAC). This extension, under contract SPO700-97-D-4005, is necessary to ensure continuity of DoD-wide technical support in manufacturing technology while a competitive follow-on contract is being prepared. Alion is the only provider capable of delivering services within the required timeframe, as any other source would incur start-up delays that would negatively impact critical ongoing agency needs. This action serves as a bridge extension to maintain uninterrupted support without a lapse in service. The contract award will be made using other than full and open competition as authorized by the Federal Acquisition Regulation and applicable U.S. Code provisions, recognizing the unique qualifications Alion possesses.
