The Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate of the US Army is conducting a worldwide market survey to identify vendors capable of providing third generation staring format focal plane arrays with silicon substrates and small pixels of 20 micron2. This acquisition is strictly for non-developmental items, meaning the technology must already exist and units must be available immediately upon the signing of a contractual agreement. Prospective vendors must demonstrate extensive experience in focal plane arrays and possess the necessary fabrication and testing facilities to support pre-production testing and limited procurement. Interested parties are required to provide data from prior testing to prove the non-developmental nature of their product. Responses were due by April 25, 2004, to the Department of the Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
