Full Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO-21 intends to issue a sole source procurement action with University of California, Davis, Genome & Biomedical Sciences Facility (GBSF), 451 E Health Science Drive, Suite #6303, Davis, CA 95616. for the procurement of the following service: VA Merit funded project, Estrogen, Aging and Vascular Inflammation for three (3) month base period beginning July 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017, plus four (4) one year option periods. NAICS Code: 611310 Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools This requirement is conducted Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements per FAR 6.302-1; This is a notice of intent to award a limited sources procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Contractor shall provide labor and consultation services to the VA Northern California Health Care System including: Contractor shall participate in experiments as designed by the PI addressing the relationship between early passage and senescent human endothelial cells and their effect on the neighboring cells functions. Contractor shall conduct experiments, as approved, to generate data that will lead to a better understanding of the link between changes in estrogen and EETs and their effects on vascular disease. Contractor shall perform the following analysis: mammalian cell culture, exosome isolation, and protein and RNA Assays. Contractor shall participate in the critical analysis and interpretation of the data collected in the experiments described above. Contractor shall contribute to the writing of manuscripts, abstracts and presentations of data at scientific meetings and may be required to present findings to other scientists who are not in the same field. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firm's ability to provide an equivalent supply as described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered.
