NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is seeking industry input regarding the development of space flight qualified Near Infrared (NIR) Focal Plane Arrays (FPAs) for integration within the James Webb Space Telescope's Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM). This notice is not a formal Request for Proposal but rather a solicitation for comments on a draft requirements document that outlines the functional, performance, and interface specifications needed for these FPAs. Interested parties are invited to review the draft, which is available online, and submit any feedback by February 5, 2003. While submitting comments is voluntary and there is no commitment by NASA to incorporate the suggestions or to award a contract based on this release, the agency values industry input for potential refinement of the requirements. The draft requirements document and associated materials are accessible electronically via NASA's Business Opportunities website, with offerors responsible for downloading all relevant files. This approach facilitates open communication and planning without immediate procurement action or financial compensation for submitted information. An ombudsman has been designated to address any concerns, ensuring transparency and fairness during this early-stage engagement. Prospective providers are encouraged to monitor the specified online resources for any updates related to this effort.
