In support of Veterans Affairs Canada’s (VAC) Accessibility Action Plan, VAC requires a Contractor to complete a full review of its Field Offices to assess the impact of existing security equipment and the visual aesthetics of the spaces on Veteran clients and visitors and identify recommendations. VAC is committed to reducing barriers for persons with disabilities throughout its offices, while also providing staff with security equipment that has been deemed necessary by the department. All coordination of this project will be completed in English and French. The final report with recommendations is due by December 2, 2024 The work outlined above does not require onsite visits if the Contractor doesn’t deem them necessary. If an onsite visit does take place the Contractor will be limited to only viewing the public access areas within that office to view visible location and setup of safety equipment. No detailed information in regards to safety equipment specifications will be provided, VAC will only be providing the location of the equipment, placement and the intended use as deemed necessary. The contractor will not require a security screening.
