The Department of Energy's Solar Program has announced a postponement in the release of the Advanced Inverter and Energy Management System Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), originally scheduled for late July or early August 2007. This delay results from favorable preliminary findings from the Renewable Energy Grid Integration (REGI) Study, a set of analyses focused on resolving challenges in integrating renewable energy into the grid. The study encompasses areas such as advanced grid planning and operations, distributed photovoltaic system design and technology requirements, testing and demonstration programs, value propositions for customers and utilities, and market penetration scenarios for photovoltaics. By incorporating insights from these studies, DOE aims to produce a more targeted and higher-quality FOA. The revised release date for the FOA is set for October 2007. This adjustment is intended to improve the quality of proposals and enhance the effectiveness of funding allocations. Interested parties or those seeking clarification regarding the schedule or the FOA may contact Dan Ton at the DOE via phone or email as provided. This change reflects DOE’s commitment to utilizing robust research findings to optimize funding opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Full Description

THE U.S. DOE Solar Program is announcing a schedule change in the release of the Advanced Inverter and Energy Management System Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). The original schedule called for a release of the Advanced Inverter FOA in the late July/early August timeframe. However, due to promising interim results that we have received from the Renewable Energy Grid Integration (REGI) Study, DOE have decided to reschedule the release of the FOA at this time. The REGI studies are a series of analyses commissioned by DOE to study specific issues involved in the area of grid integration of renewable energy. The specific studies are: * Advanced Grid Planning and Operation * Distributed PV Systems Design & Technology Requirements * Test & Demonstration Program Definition * Customer & Utility/Wholesale Value Proposition * PV Market Penetration Scenarios We feel that the information obtained from the results of these studies will assist us in releasing a better, more focused Funding Opportunity Announcement, thereby increasing the quality of the responses. The revised scheduled FOA release date is October 2007. If you have questions regarding this schedule change of regarding the FOA in general , please contact Dan Ton at 202-586- 4618 or contact@example.gov.

Rosemary Solar and Energy Storage System Complex
Solicitation # 2024110253
The Rosemary Solar and Energy Storage System Complex project involves the construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of a 140-megawatt photovoltaic solar and battery energy storage facility in unincorporated Fresno County, California. Spanning approximately 1,172 to 1,212 acres of agricultural land, the project includes three interconnected generation sites, an on-site substation, and a generation-tie line of up to 2 miles connecting to the PG&E Crescent Substation. Additional infrastructure improvements include the reconductoring of 5 linear miles of the PG&E Helm to Crescent 70 kV transmission line and the raising of a portion of the Crescent Switching Station-Schildner 70 kV power line. The project has undergone a comprehensive environmental review process under CEQA, resulting in a Final Environmental Impact Report and a Notice of Determination certifying that the project will not have a significant environmental effect, provided that adopted mitigation measures and monitoring plans are implemented. Key regulatory considerations include the protection of special-status species, such as the Fresno kangaroo rat and blunt-nosed leopard lizard, and compliance with flood control permits and hazardous waste packaging and labeling regulations. The project received approval from the Fresno County Department of Public Works and Planning on May 21, 2026, and from the Westlands Water District on July 21, 2026, with the latter agreeing to provide construction water for up to two years.
