NASA Glenn Research Center is seeking proposals through an Announcement for Proposal (AFP) for leasing five underutilized, non-excess land parcels totaling approximately 1,736 acres at the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio. These parcels are located within a controlled access area known as the Fee Area and include access to associated facilities and infrastructure to support tenant operations. NASA invites proposers to lease all or portions of these parcels, which are primarily undeveloped and strategically positioned across the north central, south, and east sections of the property. The AFP aims to foster long-term aerospace-related tenancy and innovation by leveraging these government-owned lands and resources. The lease terms include a 20-year initial period with two potential 10-year extension options, offering substantial tenure for tenants to establish and grow operations onsite. Proposal submissions must follow specified guidelines and will be evaluated based on criteria such as fair market rent and the technical viability of the intended use. Key dates for this procurement include a mandatory site visit by mid-April 2026, a question submission deadline by the end of April, and the final proposal deadline on July 2, 2026. Additional resources provided include maps of the parcels, a model Enhanced Use Lease Agreement, and specific attachments for agricultural and farm lease proposers. The solicitation is managed by NASA Glenn Research Center’s real estate office based in Cleveland, Ohio, with primary contacts available for inquiries.

CFTC Notification of Intent for a lease agreement for current Headquarters locationThe Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) plans to negotiate and award a sole-source lease renewal to Beacon Capital Partners, operating as LCPC Lafayette Property LLC, for its current headquarters located at 1155 21st Street NW in Washington, DC. This new lease will cover 289,295 rentable square feet and extend for a firm term of five years, starting October 1, 2027. The renewal is intended to bridge the gap while the CFTC undertakes the complex process of competitively procuring and transitioning to a new long-term headquarters, as the existing lease expires on September 30, 2027. This arrangement ensures continuity for the agency’s expanding workforce and operational needs, especially given that the alternative location at 355 E St SW was deemed insufficient. This sole-source lease award is justified under federal regulations allowing for non-competitive procurements when no other source meets the agency’s requirements in the necessary timeframe. The CFTC exercises independent leasing authority and emphasizes that no other property can accommodate its specific needs by the required date. Although this notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, the agency invites written responses by June 20, 2026, solely for future market research purposes, with no obligation to compete the requirement. The award is anticipated around September 30, 2026, and the government will not cover any costs incurred in responding to the notice.
