The Antelope Butte-Table Mountain Herbicide Fuel Break project, managed by the Bureau of Land Management under the Department of the Interior, aims to mitigate wildfire risk across 7,654 acres of Wildland Urban Interface areas. The initiative focuses on reducing high fine fuel loading caused by annual grass cover through the application of herbicide treatments. Once hazardous invasive grasses are cleared, the land will be prepared for the seeding of fire-resistant vegetation to establish effective fuel breaks. This opportunity is listed as a forecast with a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 115310. Robert Burdick serves as the primary point of contact, with Sherri Ferguson acting as the Small Business Specialist. This project focuses on reducing wildfire risk across 7,654 acres within Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas with very high fine fuel loading and fire risk due to annual grass cover. By using herbicide treatments to clear hazardous invasive grasses, we will prepare the land for seeding fire-resistant vegetation to create fuel breaks within the project area.
