Automatic Gate - Supply & Installation

The Corporation of the City of Peterborough has issued Request for Proposal RFP-103-26 for the supply and installation of one power-operated automatic entry gate at the Peterborough County City Waste Management Facility. The project scope includes the installation of a DC-powered gate, access control systems compatible with RHB Axiom, LED site lighting, a new 120V power feed, and the installation of a six-strand single-mode fiber optic cable. The anticipated project timeline runs from October 2026 through mid-December 2026, with a requirement for a minimum 24-month warranty upon completion. The contract award will be based on a combined score of non-price rated criteria and pricing, with the top-ranked proponent receiving an invitation to negotiate. Evaluation factors include experience and qualifications (25 points), concept design and specifications (25 points), project understanding and work plan (10 points), social value (10 points), and pricing (30 points). Mandatory requirements for bidders include a minimum of five years of experience in fencing and gate systems, a valid business license, ESA licensing in Ontario for at least five years, and a WSIB clearance certificate. Additionally, proponents must demonstrate compliance with the Municipal Buy Ontario Act by submitting a Domestic Supply Chain Plan that commits to at least 50% domestic content in major goods and services. All proposals must be submitted in English via the electronic bidding system by the deadline of October 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET.
