Intent to Sole Source Acquisition This is a notice of intent to sole source a commercial item (FAR Authority: 6.302?1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 518210 and the small business size standard is $32.5M or less. The USDA, Agriculture Research Service (ARS)., Northern Plains Area (NPA) Location Support Staff located at Fort Collins, CO intends to sole source Azure cloud service for Natural Resource and Genomics Data system and its associated components per the attached specifications from TechTrend, Inc. This software is essential for the research being conducted across all the USDA ARS locations and will enable LTAR's (covering 18 locations) cloud service to be compatible with OCIO?ARS's mandatory cloud services. After a thorough internet search TechTrend, Inc was the only manufacturer capable of meeting the attached specifications. All interested parties are encouraged to provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be considered a potential source, interested parties must submit clear and convincing documentation including prices and descriptive literature containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capability to meet this requirement. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. If no affirmative written response is received by 1100 am MT, March 26, 2018, an award will be pursued with the company mentioned above. All businesses wishing to conduct business with the US. Federal Government are required to obtain a DUNS number and register in SAM (System for Award Management). The SAM is a Web?enabled government wide application that collects, validates, stores and disseminates business information about the federal government's trading partners in support of the contract award, grants and the electronic payment processes.
