The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a sole-source purchase order to the University of California Santa Barbara MSI analytical laboratory for the analysis of 407 marine porewater and seawater samples to measure dissolved inorganic nutrients, including nitrate plus nitrite, nitrite, orthophosphate, dissolved silicic acid, and ammonium. This action is structured under FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services, with the sole source justification based on the laboratory’s unique capability to perform flow injection analysis that maintains continuity with long-term, multi-year datasets.
