AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the C.W. Bill Young Veterans Medical Center, is seeking qualified small businesses to provide Genomic Sequencing Classifier (GSC) testing services for thyroid cancer patients. This testing is critical to developing individualized treatment plans, offering prognostic and predictive insights, and detecting forms of aggressive thyroid cancer such as medullary thyroid cancer. The service requires an outside reference laboratory capable of performing and interpreting advanced genomic tests like Afirma FNA and TERT DNA on thyroid biopsies, with results reported quantitatively on a scale from 0 to 100. Additionally, the laboratory should provide complementary services such as the Xpression Atlas to further assist clinical decision-making based on minimally invasive samples. This notice is a market research tool, not a solicitation, aimed at gauging interest and capabilities among Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and other small businesses to potentially set aside the contract. If an insufficient number of SDVOSB responses are received, the requirement may be opened to VOSB, small businesses, or unrestricted competition. The reference laboratory must be CLIA licensed, provide proper documentation upon request, call urgent results directly to providers, and furnish written professional reports including clinical interpretation. Responses, including capability statements and letters of supply if available, must be submitted by June 15, 2026, to support planning efforts for a potential sole source award. The primary point of contact is the VA contract specialist in Tampa, Florida.
