The Department of Defense’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) in Charleston is soliciting information on biometric devices designed for facility access control, specifically targeting solutions suitable for emergency responder facilities. This request, due by March 9, 2007, pertains to items listed under the Department of Homeland Security's Authorized Equipment List for biometric technology (item 14.1.1.4). The information collected will support the DHS Preparedness Directorate’s System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which conducts comparative assessments to provide the emergency responder community with validated information on critical security products. Submissions should be tailored to meet the specific needs of emergency responders and focus on biometric-controlled access solutions for their facilities. Respondents are asked to provide company details—including manufacturer or distributor status—a product summary limited to 75 words, pricing, and contact information. All submissions will be made publicly available through the SAVER program, and vendors must avoid providing proprietary information. The information gathered will be used solely for assessment and planning purposes; no contract will be awarded as a result of this request. Interested parties must complete a product summary questionnaire and submit it via email. The technical point of contact for this request is Kelly Williams, and vendors with questions may reach out to the designated Contract Specialist. This effort aims to gather comprehensive data to inform future procurement decisions without constituting a formal solicitation.
