Block Tree Pruning 2027

The City of Vaughan is soliciting bids for the Block Tree Pruning 2027 project, a professional arboricultural services contract covering street tree pruning and removals across 15 specific map grid blocks. The performance period spans from January 4 to December 31, 2027, with work to be conducted Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The scope of work includes pruning cuts, removal of damaged limbs greater than 2.5cm in diameter, and the removal of dead or declining trees with a diameter at breast height of 15cm or less, subject to City approval. All arboricultural activities must adhere to ANSI A300 standards and International Society of Arboriculture best practices, while traffic management must comply with the Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7. Bidders must submit their proposals exclusively through the City's online bidding system by the deadline of October 14, 2026. Mandatory requirements for award include providing proof of specific safety and technical certifications, such as IHSA Line Clearing-Safety and Awareness and either a MTCU Utility Arborist Certificate 444B or an ISA Certified Arborist designation combined with IHSA Utility Line Clearing Technician Proficiency. Financial security is required through a digital bid bond, a performance bond, and a labour and material payment bond. Successful contractors will be subject to monthly invoicing with a 10% deficiency holdback, and must provide a detailed pruning schedule within ten calendar days of contract execution. All work performed near energized power lines must strictly follow Electrical Utility Safety Rules.
