Camp Far West Hydroelectric Relicensing Project

The South Sutter Water District has been issued a water quality certification amendment for the Camp Far West Hydroelectric Project, a 6.8-megawatt facility located on the Bear River in Yuba County. The State Water Resources Control Board approved this amendment on October 22, 2025, following the filing of a Notice of Determination in compliance with the Public Resources Code. A Negative Declaration was prepared under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), concluding that the project will not have a significant environmental effect. Consequently, no mitigation measures, reporting plans, or overriding considerations were adopted. The State Water Resources Control Board serves as the public agency for this action, with the South Sutter Water District acting as the lead agency.
