CCGS Leonard J. Cowley - VLE DRYDOCKING Bharat Hora Telephone No. (343) 551-4942
Requirement: The CCGS Leonard J. Cowley is presently operational in Eastern Canada. The drydocking work includes amongst others, regulatory dry-docking work to meet ABS and TC requirements and certification (removal and inspecting the tail shaft, seals, stern tube, propeller, and rudder amongst others) and miscellaneous regulatory surveys of the sea bays, sea chests, and void spaces, renewal of steel including some possible replacement of hull, tanks and superstructure steel, refurbishment of tanks, systems, wheelhouse, overhauling of main engines, generators, rudder, shaft and propeller, pumps, renewal of various equipment like Purifiers, Windlass, Lifeboat and Davit, Bow Thruster, Valves and Piping, Steering Gear, and overhauls and upgrades of various electrical and electronic equipment. Bidders' Conference: A bidders' Conference chaired by the Contracting Authority will be held virtually on January 17, 2023 at 10:30 AM NL time. Bidders must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than three (3) Working Days before the scheduled conference to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend.
Site Visit - Vessel: The viewing will take place on January 10, 2023 at the CCG Base, 280 Southside Rd, St. John’s, NL A1E 0A3 between 9:00 AM (0900) - 5:00 pm (1700) NL time. Bidders must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than three (3) Working Days before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders are not required to attend the site visit, but it is recommended that they send a representative(s) for the site visit. All visitors must have valid identification and must report to the Commissionaire at the Main Gate, where they will sign in and be directed to the CCGS Leonard J. Cowley. Bidder are required to wear safety boots and hard hat while onboard the vessel and follow any other CCG requirements and protocols.
Work must commence and be completed as follows:
Work Commence: April 27, 2023 Work Complete: July 25, 2024
Sourcing Strategy:
The sourcing strategy related to this procurement will be limited to suppliers in Eastern Canada Region, in accordance with the Shipbuilding, Refit, Repair and Modernization Policy, and is subject to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. Date of delivery: see above The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement. Bids may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
