Seminole Boat Ramp
Solicitation # 26-0075-MA
The City of Clearwater is soliciting bids for the Seminole St. Boat Ramp Restoration project in Clearwater, Florida. The scope of work involves the comprehensive repair and restoration of an existing boat ramp facility that has suffered typical degradation. Key activities include the removal of the existing structure, dredging and grading of native soils, placement of gravel fill, and the final design and installation of new concrete boat ramps. The finished facility must feature four launching bays providing eight total ramps, with two outer ramps measuring approximately 56 feet and six interior ramps measuring approximately 46 feet from mean high water to the toe. The completed ramps must be capable of supporting vessels exceeding 35 feet with combined weights over 10 tons. Additional requirements include the temporary relocation and preservation of floating docks and gangways to ensure ADA-compliant travel. The project is categorized as marine construction with an estimated value of 750,000 dollars. Bidders must provide a bid security equal to 10 percent of their maximum bid price and furnish payment and performance bonds within ten days of a contract award. The period of performance is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Contractors must choose between two construction sequencing options: Alternate A, which utilizes a phased closure to minimize public disruption, or Alternate B, which allows for a maximum 45-day simultaneous closure of all ramps. Technical specifications require concrete with a compressive strength of 4,000 PSI and a minimum design load of 300 PSF. Environmental compliance is mandatory, requiring the implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and the use of turbidity curtains.
