The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a requirement for Class 4 Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPVs). The new vessels will consist of two Patrol Craft (PC) types:
Patrol Craft–Small (PC1): A nimble vessel, 25 feet in length or less, designed for navigating shallower, obstructed waterways, such as the Rio Grande River. Patrol Craft–Medium (PC2): A more stable vessel, with a minimum length of 25 feet and a maximum length of 29 feet, designed for operating in rougher open waters, such as the Great Lakes and other open inshore areas.
