The Army Reserve is seeking information for a computer program designed to support maintenance, supply, and readiness procedures specifically for Army Watercraft. The system must be capable of managing multiple job orders in various stages of repair while tracking man hour accounting, parts usage, and vessel status. It should also integrate with the Army’s shore-side maintenance support system, maintaining accurate records of parts inventory, usage, and replenishment. Essential features include the ability to locate parts by item used, location, or work order, as well as tracking running hours and lube oil consumption on vessel engines for historical documentation and reporting. Additionally, the program should facilitate research by providing reference materials such as technical manuals and blueprints relevant to repair items. The inclusion of scanning capabilities is desired, allowing barcodes to be attached to machinery and scanned to automatically populate standard fields on work orders, including nomenclature and national stock numbers. Critical data to be transmitted to the Army’s automation systems includes man hours, part requests, vessel readiness, hours used, and work order updates. The solicitation encourages submission of questions and proposals via email, indicating that additional features are welcomed for consideration. Responses were due by January 5, 2009, and the announcement clarifies it is not a commitment to award a contract, with the government not responsible for respondent costs.
