Consulting Services: Watermain Upgrades Chatwin Avenue and Tamarack Lane

The City of Maple Ridge is soliciting proposals for professional consulting services to manage the design, contract administration, and construction inspection of approximately 500 meters of watermain upgrades. The project is divided into two primary work packages: the Chatwin section, which involves installing a 200 mm watermain, fire hydrants, and 300 mm storm sewer with road restoration; and the Tamarack section, which requires replacing existing asbestos cement watermain with 250 mm ductile iron pipe, including new service connections and repaving. All work must adhere to the City of Maple Ridge Design Criteria Manual and relevant British Columbia regulations, including specific standards for borehole backfilling and soil corrosiveness evaluations. Proposals are due by 2:00 PM Pacific time on October 1, 2026, and must be submitted exclusively through the Bids and Tenders online portal. The successful consultant will act as the Prime Consultant and must maintain comprehensive insurance, including 5 million dollars in commercial general liability, 2 million dollars in professional liability, and 5 million dollars in motor vehicle insurance. Payment is issued via Electronic Funds Transfer on a net 30-day basis following the submission of detailed monthly invoices and progress reports. The contract is subject to a 10-day termination notice for any reason and requires the consultant to maintain a valid Maple Ridge business license and good standing with WorkSafeBC.
